Zymo Research’s ZR Viral RNA
Kit™ provides a hassle-free method for the
rapid isolation of high-quality viral RNA from a wide range
of biological sources. The ZR Viral RNA Kit™ can be
used to successfully isolate viral RNA from cell-free body
fluids as well as cellular suspensions at concentrations
≤1x105 cells/ml. The kit has been rigorously
tested and used to isolate viral RNA from samples containing
enteroviruses, rhinoviruses, coronaviruses, HIV, HCV, influenza
A virus, flaviviruses, measles virus, parainfluenza virus,
and parvovirus (a ssDNA virus). The procedure typically
takes about 5 minutes and is based on a newly developed,
high-strength single buffer system that facilitates both
viral particle lysis and the subsequent adsorption of the
RNA onto the matrix of Zymo-Spin IC™ Columns. The
procedure is easy: simply add the ZR Viral RNA Buffer to
your sample, spin, wash, and then elute the RNA with the
supplied RNase-free water. The eluted viral RNA is suitable
for use in various RNA-based procedures including RT-PCR.
