DESCRIPTION:
Zymo Research Corporation (ZRC), a rapidly growing biotechnology company located in Southern California, is seeking a Research Intern for immediate hire. Zymo Research specializes in the design and manufacture of the most refined and efficient products used for the isolation, purification, and manipulation of DNA and RNA. 

Summary:
Working side by side with some of the most talented people in biotechnology, the successful applicant will participate in semi-independent product research and development efforts. Interns will play a key role as members of project teams in research, development, and manufacturing that complement their college curricula with relevant hands-on experience. 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
Product Development

  • Assist the Principal Investigator with research methods, experiments, data collection and data interpretation.
  • Carry out high-level, complex research activities. 
  • Ensure products maintain consistent performance.

 

Manufacturing

  • Light manufacturing responsibility for chemical assembly of DNA, RNA ZRC kits.

 

Quality Control

  • Quality control over ZRC products through quality control experiments.

 

Developing and writing project protocols

  • Maintaining quality control measurements.
  • Filing and collating project documentation including ZRC Laboratory Notebook and quality control reports.


Qualifications:

  • Comfortable with lab research and lab surroundings
  • Ability to work 15-20hrs/week


Education:

  • To be eligible for this position, you must have completed your sophomore year at an accredited college or university
  • Education in Biology or Chemistry
  • Minimum 3.0 GPA for consideration
