As the Business Development Territory Manager, you will play a critical role in shaping and executing strategies to expand our market presence, particularly in the B2B sector. Your responsibilities will include developing and executing a comprehensive business development strategy, cultivating relationships with key partners, and ensuring that our diverse product portfolio meets the evolving needs of our clients. You will be at the forefront of identifying and pursuing new opportunities to grow our business and ensure that Zymo Research remains a leader in the industry.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop and Execute Strategy: Craft and implement a strategic plan to expand Zymo Research’s B2B business, focusing on long-term growth and market penetration.
- Relationship Building: Cultivate and maintain strong, enduring relationships with key industry partners, stakeholders, and customers to foster collaboration and drive business growth.
- Customer-Centric Solutions: Work closely with customers to understand their challenges and needs, and leverage Zymo Research’s capabilities to develop tailored solutions that drive mutual success.
- Portfolio Mastery: Gain a deep understanding of Zymo Research’s product and service portfolio to effectively communicate and align our offerings with the unique needs of B2B customers.
- Opportunity Identification: Conduct market research and analysis to identify emerging trends, customer needs, and new business opportunities. Proactively pursue partnerships and collaborations that align with Zymo Research’s strategic goals.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with marketing, R&D, and other internal teams to ensure that business development efforts are aligned with the company’s overall objectives and that customer feedback informs product development.
- Negotiation and Contract Management: Lead negotiations and manage contracts to secure favorable terms for Zymo Research while maintaining strong customer relationships.
- Performance Tracking: Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success of business development initiatives and ensure that goals are met.
- Reporting: Provide regular updates and insights to senior management on business development activities, market trends, and growth opportunities.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Business, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in business development within the life sciences or biotechnology industry.
- Proven track record of developing and executing successful business development strategies.
- Strong relationship-building skills with proven track record of developing and maintaining long-term professional relationships.
- Excellent communication and effective negotiation skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate market insights into actionable strategies.
- Preferred background in biology or related life sciences disciplines. NGS experience is a plus.

Compensation:
The estimated base compensation range for this position is $85k-$130k annually at the time of posting. In addition to a base compensation, this position offers a commission structure. Actual compensation details will be provided in writing at the time of offer, if applicable, and is based on several factors we believe fairly and accurately impact compensation, including geographic location, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, and other job permitted factors.
