Senior Web Developer Lead

 

Job Summary:

Zymo Research is seeking an experienced and dynamic Senior Web Developer Lead to oversee our front-end and back-end web development teams. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing a team of approximately 15 professionals, driving the development of our e-commerce websites, and ensuring the seamless integration of complex functionalities, including secure financial transactions and large-scale product management.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

 Leadership & Team Management:

• Lead, mentor, and manage a multidisciplinary web development team.
• Foster a collaborative and innovative team environment.
• Conduct regular performance reviews and provide professional development opportunities.

Technical Oversight:

• Oversee all aspects of front-end and back-end development for our e-commerce platforms.
• Ensure websites are scalable, secure, and optimized for performance.
• Implement best practices in coding, architecture, and user experience design.

Project Management:

• Plan, execute, and deliver web development projects on time and within budget.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams including marketing, sales, and product management.
• Prioritize tasks and allocate resources effectively to meet business objectives.

 E-Commerce Development:

• Manage websites featuring thousands of SKUs (Stock Keeping Units).
• Oversee the integration of secure financial transaction systems.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant e-commerce regulations and standards.

 Strategic Planning:

• Develop and implement long-term strategies for web development initiatives.
• Stay updated on emerging technologies and industry trends to keep our platforms competitive.
• Provide technical insights and recommendations to senior leadership.

Education and Experience

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in web development, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
• Proven experience managing large-scale e-commerce websites.
• Strong proficiency in front-end technologies (HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript frameworks like React or Angular).
• Extensive experience with back-end development (Node.js, Python, PHP, or similar languages).
• Knowledge of database management systems (MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB).
• Familiarity with cloud services and deployment (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud).
• Experience with DevOps practices and tools (CI/CD pipelines, Docker, Kubernetes).

Compensation:
The estimated base compensation range for this position is $110,000 - $160,000 per year at the time of posting. Actual compensation details will be provided in writing at the time of offer, if applicable, and is based on several factors we believe fairly and accurately impact compensation, including geographic location, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, and other job permitted factors.
