Distributor Account Associate 

Job Summary:

Zymo Research (a 2021 Best Places To Work Award Recipient, The OC Register) is an innovation-centric, biotechnology company with campuses located in Irvine and Tustin California. Currently, the Distribution Management Group is looking for a candidate to fill an Associate-level position. The position will be to help coordinate/manage customer interactions with a specific emphasis on key accounts.

The ideal candidate should have experience in life sciences (education/work experience) and be conversant in common molecular methods (e.g., nucleic acid extraction, PCR). Key to the position will be to offer unsurpassed client (Distributor) support with an objective to drive distributor sales revenue, retention, and satisfaction. Also, important to the position will be fostering positive relationships, providing technical product information, and coordinating product-specific marketing and sales training.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Ability to understand and represent the key attributes of Zymo Research’s top products that pertain to the life science market.

• Elevate distributor product awareness through ongoing communication, technical troubleshooting, training, and new and existing product demonstration.

• Source and engage new partners and manage new partner agreement documentation and tracking as needed.

• Communicate closely with customer service, technical service, business, and marketing teams to increase engagement and support of the distribution network.

• Issue custom product quotes and accept, review, and circulate purchase orders.

• Monitor distributing partner complaints, follow up on outstanding orders, and lead the resolution of any backorders in a timely and professional fashion.

• Manage CRM data for distributor accounts.

• Attend meetings with distribution partners and attend partner tradeshows.

• Regularly provide product sales, market surveys, competitive analysis, and forecasts to management.

• Be able to identify opportunities and work with relevant teams to grow relevant business relationships.

• Other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in biology, business, economics, or similar.

• Education in the life sciences is a plus.

• Experience in working with distributors of life sciences products and services is a plus.

• Positive attitude, strong desire to succeed, demonstrated ability to complete tasks and flexibility are anticipated of the successful applicant.

• Customer-centric working style will be useful in coordinating with global clientele.

• Clear communicator with excellent written and oral presentation skills.

• Organized and can prioritize projects together with the Distributor Management Group.

• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

• Proven experience and success in developing new business relationships, building repeat business, and managing a sales territory, preferred 

• Skilled at partner engagement, opportunity management, and negotiations, preferred.

Compensation:

The estimated base compensation range for this position is $67,000 to $74,000 per year at the time of posting. Actual compensation details will be provided in writing at the time of offer, if applicable, and is based on several factors we believe fairly and accurately impact compensation, including geographic location, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, and other job permitted factors.
