Supporting the Accessibility of Molecular Methods in Wildlife Management and Conservation

Mission Statement

The Molecular Wildlife & Ecology Grant supports the application of genetic and genomic tools in wildlife management and conservation. Research on wildlife populations is vital for understanding biodiversity and making informed conservation decisions.

Grant Award

The grant will be awarded to five applicants, who will receive a $2,500 credit to use on Zymo Research products and services. Each grantee will also receive recommendations for an optimal workflow from Zymo Research’s product and service specialists.

Selection Process

The selection committee will prioritize those who demonstrate a deep care and commitment to their work, the species they are studying, and the impact it has on conservation or wildlife management. Proposals should exemplify the mission of the Molecular Wildlife & Ecology Grant. Qualified fields of study encompass a range of wildlife research topics.

Deadlines

  • Proposals are due May 15, 2023
  • Applicants will receive a notice on the status of their selection by June 1, 2023

Eligibility and Requirements

  • Proposed project must be original work on wildlife or conservation-oriented research with an emphasis on molecular methods
  • Applicants should be comfortable sharing information about their research with the scientific community
  • Domestic U.S. Applicants only (Research efforts can be abroad)
  • Applicant will include Zymo Research’s product or services in their citations if they publish their work
