Job Summary:
Zymo Research is looking for a dynamic individual to join our IT team. In this role you will provide technical support and assistance to end users. This role involves identifying, researching, and resolving various technical issues. The IT intern will manage and track support requests through the helpdesk ticketing system, ensuring timely and effective resolution.
If you are passionate about directly contributing to scientific advancement in a highly collaborative environment, we want you! This position is a part-time summer internship with working days on Monday, Wednesdays, and Fridays.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Identify, research, and resolve technical problems.
• Respond to, document, track, and monitor IT related issues using helpdesk tickets.
• Install/configure workstations and printers according to company standards.
• Perform necessary software installation and configuration according to company standards.
• Document as required any policies and/or changes to existing policies.
Education and Experience:
• A B.A. in Computer Science or Information Technology or currently enrolled in a B.A. in Computer Science or Information Technology program
• A minimum 3.0 GPA is required for consideration.
• Knowledgeable in current Windows, Linux, and OSX environments
• Proficient in current versions of Microsoft Office Suite & O365
• Knowledgeable in TCP/IP, Security & Networking
Preferred Experience and working knowledge of:
• Windows 10 and 11
• Current Windows Server versions (2019,2022 and 2025)
• Active Directory & Group Policy
• Group based file permissions
• Software installation
• Network infrastructure - VLANS, IP address, routing, VPN, DNS
• Linux systems
• Cloud systems
VOIP phone system
AWS & Google Cloud
Azure & Office 365
• Software license management
• Manage and maintain various hardware as required
• Printers, scanners, and copiers

Compensation:
The estimated base compensation range for this position is $20/hour at the time of posting. Actual compensation details will be provided in writing at the time of offer, if applicable, and is based on several factors we believe fairly and accurately impact compensation, including geographic location, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, and other job permitted factors.
