Resources
Q1: Is there a minimum number of libraries that can be transported per device?
There is no minimum. 200+ uniquely labeled pooled libraries can be transported.
Q2: How long are samples stable once bound to the column?
Samples are stable indefinitely when stored properly.
Q3: Do the samples need to be shipped on ice?
No, the samples are stable at room temperature and do not require dry ice or cold-chain shipping.
Q4: Can the samples be eluted with something other than nuclease-free water?
Yes, any elution buffer can be used to elute the samples from the column, provided it is compatible with your downstream application.
Q5: Can I still use DNA/RNA Shield™ if a precipitate has formed?
This can happen on occasion due to transport or storage at lower temperatures. The reagent functionality is not affected; however, the precipitate can be resolved by heating the reagent to >37 °C.
Q6: Is DNA/RNA Shield™ compatible with bleach (sodium hypochlorite)?
Avoid mixing the reagent and bleach (sodium hypochlorite) or other strong oxidizing agents and acids. Clean up any accidental spills with water first.
