Q1: What is the min and max input volume that can be added to the OneStep Inhibitor removal kit?
The minimum volume that can be processed with the HRC columns is 50µl. For the maximum volume, the columns can handle as much as 200µl, however, the input limit is not as dependent on the column as it is on the inhibitor presence in the sample. For largely inhibited samples it is recommended to keep volumes between 50-100µl.
Q2: What is the difference between the old OneStep PCR Inhibitor Removal Kit (D6030) and this new version of the kit (D6031)?
The new version has a more simplified workflow as it does not require any prep buffer and has improved stability for more efficient inhibitor removal.
Q3: Why are my purity ratios low after using the column?
There may be residual buffer from the column in your sample, however, all the components in the column are inert and will not affect any downstream applications.
