Zymo Research to Host BioFestival at Johns Hopkins University, Empowering Scientific Innovation and Sustainability

IRVINE, CA (May 15, 2025) — Zymo Research is excited to announce its upcoming BioFestival at Johns Hopkins University on September 12, 2025, continuing its mission to foster innovation, collaboration, and sustainable practices across the life sciences.
Designed to bridge the gap between academia and industry, the BioFestival will provide students, faculty, and researchers with a hands-on experience featuring the latest breakthroughs in biotechnology. From cutting-edge sample preparation technologies to advancements in Next-generation Sequencing (NGS), attendees will explore the tools and technologies shaping the future of research and discovery.
A key highlight of the event will be the BioDisruptor Grant Competition, where student researchers will present their disruptive research to a panel of esteemed judges. This competition offers students an exciting opportunity to gain recognition and access to research funding, Zymo Research technologies, and other valuable resources to support their scientific endeavors.
“When Zymo Research approached us with the opportunity to host BioFestival, we knew immediately it was an event we simply couldn’t pass up,” said Jess Dress, Director of Employer Engagement at Johns Hopkins University. “As the nation’s first research institution, we at Johns Hopkins take immense pride in our culture of discovery. BioFestival offers a powerful platform for our students to share their research journeys while also providing a glimpse into the cutting-edge innovations at one of today’s most forward-thinking biotechnology companies. We are truly excited to welcome Zymo Research to campus for a day that celebrates the spirit of scientific exploration and collaboration.”
The BioFestival is free to attend and open to all Johns Hopkins University students, faculty, and researchers. Additional BioFestivals are currently in development at other leading institutions, with details to be announced soon.
