Zymo Research Champions Innovative Microbiome Research for Wastewater Science
IRVINE, Calif., November 4, 2026 — Zymo Research continues to advance microbial research by sponsoring the Microbes in Wastewater Symposium, a collaborative forum hosted by the Aladdin Bioinformatics Foundation that brings together scientists, engineers, and public health officials to address pressing challenges in wastewater science.
Taking place January 14–15, 2027, at The Balboa Bay Resort in Newport Beach, California, the fourth annual Microbes in Wastewater Symposium will gather interdisciplinary experts from government, academia, and industry to share molecular strategies at the forefront of wastewater microbiology. By uniting different sectors of science, the symposium will strengthen efforts to monitor microbes, respond to pathogens, and defend public health.
Zymo Research is proud to support a platform that leverages innovative microbiome research for the protection of public health. From its earliest products to today, Zymo Research has always engineered accessible, streamlined microbial solutions to address challenges in microbiology.
“Wastewater is a powerful window into community health. Understanding microbiomics in wastewater allows us to turn microbial data into actionable public health intelligence,” said Dr. Larry Jia, Founder and CEO of Zymo Research. “Our mission is to put the power of science to work for society, moving from reacting to disease toward anticipating and preventing it.”
