ZR Urine RNA Isolation Kit
R1038 / R1039
- Quick & Easy: Recovery of total RNA from cells, biological sediment in urine, large volume liquid samples and suitable for isolation of RNA from microvesicles. Not for cell-free isolation.
- High-Quality: RNA is ready for all downstream applications including Next-Gen Sequencing, RT-PCR, etc.
|Equipment||Microcentrifuge, syringes (30 ml, 1 ml)|
|Purity||RNA is ready for Next-Gen sequencing, RTPCR, microarray, hybridization, etc. A260/A280, A260/A230: >1.8.|
|Sample Source||Urine and other aqueous samples containing cells, biological sediment, microvesicle-associated RNA, etc.|
|Size Range||Total RNA ≥ 17 nt|
|Yield||10 µg RNA (binding capacity), ≥6 µl (elution volume)|
RNA was isolated from whole urine using the ZR Urine RNA kit. Researchers found that microvesicles RNA is better preserved compared to whole cells, indicating possible RNA protection during urine passage.Miranda, KC et al. Nucleic acids within urinary exosomes/microvesicles are potential biomarkers for renal disease. Kidney International. 2010.
The ZR Urine RNA kit was used to extract RNA from sloughed cells (5 mL urine) for downstream RT-PCR. A multiplex biomarker panel was developed for the diagnosis of transitional bladder carcinoma via a non-invasive method.Kumar, P et al. Highly sensitive and specific novel biomarkers for the diagnosis of transitional bladder carcinoma. Oncotarget. 2015.
Total RNA was extracted from freshly voided urine using the ZR Urine RNA kit for gene expression analysis. Aurora A Kinase (AURKA) mRNA was identified as a possible diagnostic and prognostic biomarker for urothelial bladder cancer.de Martino, M et al. Aurora A Kinase as a diagnostic urinary marker for urothelial bladder cancer. World Journal of Urology. 2015.
