Sample Requirements and Shipping Instructions

Note: This information will be emailed as a PDF attachment after your form is submitted.

Labelling Requirements

Label sample tubes with Sample ID (i.e. 1, 2, 3…) that match the Sample Information File. Do NOT label with unique sample names.
Sample Name must be unique.
Start sample name with a letter from the alphabet.
Keep sample names under 10 characters.
No spaces or special characters, except underscore for sample name.

Allowed characters in sample names are letters, numbers, and underscore; no other characters are allowed. Please substitute any other characters for the allowed ones.

Sample Requirements

ChIP DNA
- Minimum 15 ng sample is required.
- Concentration ≥1 ng/µl.
- Sample should be in TE (≤0.1 mM EDTA) buffer or DNase/RNase-Free water.
- ChIP samples must be accompanied by qPCR verification to ensure the material is suitable for library construction.
- ChIP-seq libraries are size selected during library preparation. Therefore, it is important that chromatin is sheared to a size range between 200-600 bp.
- Do not use Salmon Sperm DNA/Protein A Agarose for ChIP assay to prevent Salmon Sperm DNA contamination in ChIP DNA.
- ChIP DNA sample must be treated with RNAse A. We can provide a protocol for RNAse treatment of ChIP DNA during reverse cross-linking.

Shipping Instructions

All samples pertaining to the order must be shipped together.
Ship ChIP DNA and raw samples (e.g. tissues, cell pellets etc.) on dry ice.
Ship samples on Monday through Wednesday. Do not ship samples over the weekend or for Saturday delivery.
Send samples with your printed Sample Information File and your printed quote to the address below.
Notify your Service Representative that samples have been shipped.

- To assist samples through US Customs, Zymo Research recommends downloading and completing the Certificate of Origin Form. Fill in your sample information and include this document with your shipment. In addition, an official declaration such as the ones below can be included to improve chances that the samples pass through US Customs, though this cannot be guaranteed by Zymo Research. Zymo Research is not responsible for samples held by US Customs.
