Web Development Automation Intern

Job Summary:

Zymo Research is looking for a dynamic individual to join our AI and web development team. This is an exciting opportunity to explore the impact of cutting-edge methods, technologies, and applications in the fields of AI and web dev automation.  

Zymo's expertise in providing end-to-end solutions for biomedical research with a rapidly growing customer base—from sample collection to in-depth bioinformatics analysis—will serve as the foundation for the intern's work.

The ideal candidate should be a self-motivated learner, an effective team player, and possess a strong interest in learning about AI applications in web development and automation. This hands-on experience at Zymo Research will not only bolster the intern's expertise in AI and task automation but also contribute to the wider scientific community.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Research and evaluate cutting-edge AI technologies and tools for automating the web development process, including the generation of code, content, and design elements.
• Explore and implement AI-based solutions like multiple agents for automation from design to deployment.
• Develop and maintain scripts for automated testing and deployment processes, enhancing the efficiency and reliability of web applications.

Education and Experience:

• Have or working towards a BS or MS in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or related field. Preferably a recent graduate or someone with junior or senior standing at an accredited university.
• Experience in programming languages relevant to web development, such as JavaScript, Python, HTML, CSS, and frameworks like React or Angular.
• Familiarity with AI and machine learning concepts, including NLP, ChatGPT, Claude, and Gemini, with the ability to apply these in web development projects.
• Knowledge of web servers, databases, and API development, with experience in using SQL/NoSQL databases and RESTful services. Understanding of software development methodologies.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, capable of troubleshooting web development issues and integrating AI solutions.
• A keen interest in staying up to date with the latest trends in AI, web development technologies, and automation tools.

Compensation:

The estimated base compensation range for this position is $20/hour at the time of posting. Actual compensation details will be provided in writing at the time of offer, if applicable, and is based on several factors we believe fairly and accurately impact compensation, including geographic location, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, and other job permitted factors.
