Zymo Research announces launch of novel Sample Collector for Accurate Skin Microbiome Analysis

[Irvine, CA] – Zymo Research Corporation announced today the launch of the EpiLift™ Collector, intended to set a new standard in dermal microbial sampling.

EpiLift™ is designed to streamline the process of sampling skin surfaces with its innovative dual-sided adhesive tip. Compared to conventional swabbing techniques, the EpiLift™ Collector results in high yields of biomass and resulting nucleic acids.  The EpiLift™ Collector can be paired with a tube containing the preservative reagent DNA/RNA Shield™.  This reagent takes a molecular snapshot at the site and time of collection, facilitating accurate molecular profiling.  Samples are stable in the preservative at ambient temperature for transport and immediate profiling.

"EpiLift™ represents a significant advancement in skin sample collection technology. Through the integration of user-friendly features coupled with an industry-leading nucleic acid preservative [DNA/RNA Shield™], we are enabling researchers and clinicians to accurately characterize the skin microbiome for both research and personalized skincare," said Dr. Stanislav Forman (CTO at Zymo Research).

The EpiLift™ Collector is available for direct purchase and featured in the SafeCollect™ Skin Collection Kit. Zymo Research can provide more information on their website and is offering free kits for evaluation purposes.
