UX and Graphic Designer (Contract to Hire)

Job Summary:

Zymo Research is seeking a versatile UX and Graphic Designer to join our dynamic Design Team. In this role, you will drive the user experience and interface design while bringing creative graphic design expertise to our projects. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• User-Centric Design:
  • Lead the design of user experiences and interfaces for our product suite, ensuring seamless and intuitive navigation.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into effective design solutions.
• Research and Analysis:
  • Conduct user research, usability testing, and competitor analysis to inform design decisions.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends and best practices in UX/UI design.
• Wireframing, Prototyping, and Visual Design:
  • Develop wireframes, user flows, and interactive prototypes to communicate design concepts.
  • Create visually appealing and on-brand interfaces through high-fidelity mockups and design assets.
• Graphic Design:
  • Conceptualize and design visually appealing layouts for various projects, maintaining brand consistency.
  • Collaborate with marketing and research teams to develop strategic concepts that effectively communicate product features.
• Collaboration and Implementation:
  • Work closely with development teams to ensure the feasibility and successful implementation of design solutions.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to align design strategies with business goals and user needs.

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Graphic Design, or related field.
• Proven experience as a UX/UI Designer with a robust portfolio showcasing diverse design projects.
• Strong understanding of user-centered design principles and methodologies.
• Proficiency in design tools such as Sketch, Figma, Adobe XD, Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.
• Experience with prototyping tools and techniques.
• Minimum of 5 years of Graphic Design experience with expertise in creating marketing graphics and website custom experiences.
• Strong execution capabilities in a fast-paced and evolving business environment.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to convey complex ideas clearly.

Compensation:

The estimated base compensation range for this position is $32 to $45 per hour at the time of posting. Actual compensation details will be provided in writing at the time of offer, if applicable, and is based on several factors we believe fairly and accurately impact compensation, including geographic location, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, and other job permitted factors.
